This is a short, spicy, and sweet monster romance. The characters have been pining for each other without the other realizing. A weekend getaway as a fake dating opportunity gets the action going for the two of them.
I enjoyed this as a quick, easy read. This is my first book of this author's. I didn't like the explanation that Gunner is an orc because he drank a magic potion. I like my monsters to be true monsters, and Gunner is basically a human man with body self-esteem issues.
