Yet again I am in awe of ms wolff.

Just when I thought the cliffhanger of crave couldn’t be beaten the ending of this one left me yearning so aggressively I am one button away from insta ordering the rest of the series.

There’s tragedy and grief throughout this book and it shows how saving someone or thinking you may have the right idea or plan in place may not always be the case. Not only do we get to see Grace become a strong independent gargoyle in her own right but we see Hudson develop as a character in such a unique manner as he is stuck in graces mind until he can be brought back due to the failed ceremony from the last book.

I couldn’t put this down despite it being a huge book and I cannot sit to get into the rest of this series.

Was die Story betrifft:

It took a long time to get to the “exciting stuff.” But once you got 50% of the way through the book, it was impossible to put down.

i thought parts of this book were boring, mainly the slice of life stuff or talking about the sport ludares. i will say i was absolutely a sucker for the
dancing in the laundry room scene
, but the rest of it could have been toned down a bit.

i also found a lot of parts regarding
jaxon and hudson’s interactions with grace
to be super cheesy in a cringey way. i wish some of that was different but it wasn’t the worst either.

i was annoyed that the major climax at the end was mainly the
ludares trial. i thought it was kind of weird that a highschool sport was meant to be some intense event that allows someone to hold a seat at the governing body that controls like all of supernatural beings and their laws.

i loved the last line of the book a lot, def a great way to leave off until the next book. the last line points to something that i was hoping for anyways, so now im even more excited to go to the next book. i probably would have given 4 stars if there was less of the fluff since it made the book really long. otherwise, i will probably buy physical copies of the whole series since i’ve been loaning it from my library but like it enough to buy.
