It's so nice to see characters we got used to from the first book, Dune, being here too. I still want to read the novels, but for now, I will settle for the comic adaptation of the book.

This story takes place before the events of Dune, where Duke Leto Artreides is still a young heir, 15 years old and the same age as his son, Paul, when Dune started. We also see young Vladimir Harkonnen, the Emperor before he got the throne and when Keynes' father was first sent to Arrakis.

I loved the art work in this Graphic novel. Because of what it is, there's no real comparison to the novel, though the text does enough to allow you to enter into the world of Dune.

This is enjoyable due to the marvellous art in it, the rendering is lovely and the colour makes it shine.

The 1st volume of this Dune prequel starts off on the right foot. This story gives you an idea of where famous characters from the first Dune novel are in their lives and how they get to the point fans are use to by the time we reach Paul’s story in the first book. It alternates character POVs quite a bit, but if you’re read the original Dune books, you’ll be use to this by now. Dune fans should check this out.

I have not read the prequel novels of Dune, so perhaps the story in this graphic novel was the same as those books.

The art was sometimes hit or miss for me. A lot of it is gorgeous. And then sometimes all the faces looked the same to me so I was unclear on what was happening to who. It felt somewhat chaotic because it jumps between planets quite a bit.

That all being said, I liked being the Dune world and I was curious about the plots as they were being set up, and seeing the origin stories of beloved characters was fun. I would like to read more.

Muah! Chefs kiss.

The Artworks, the pacing, the tropes.
This all leads to something big and it's thrilling to read "the prequel" to the dune saga.
Put in your noise canceling headphones, pump hans zimmers dune Soundtrack and dive right into one of the best, if not the best, fantasy scifi settings ever created.

Spoiler This book was pretty interesting with how it didn't follow the plot line of Dune but was more sort of like a prequel. It was a bit hard to enjoy the characters because there wasn't really one specific character focus but overall it was pretty cool and the images really looked like the world of Dune.
