As much as I enjoyed the first book, I think the second book sort of overstays its welcome. A lot of the same jokes are used, but they feel a bit dragged out. I ended up skimming some parts because I just didn't feel as engaged. It was still fun and had its moments, but they felt a touch too over the top compared to the last book. Of course, I still finished it and I still had fun at some points. But overall, this book had me feeling that "is this going to be over soon?" feeling at several points.
I do think though that this duology would make a fantastic one season anime adaptation.
