Definitely should’ve had a list of trigger warnings, did not expect the darkly emotional aspects such as selfharm and depression.  Besides that, entertaining story with good romance.

This was always my favorite vampire book series. Lots of original content, addressing classism, plenty of drama, and a ton of adventure. My only criticism is that there isn’t a ton of build up for either of the romances. I understand that a decent amount of time passed in the book and the author couldn’t write about every little interaction that made people fall in love but she could’ve spent a smidge more time on it. Other than that a great read with good plot twists! The narrator was good but she said Strigoi weird

I will admit, vampires are not my thing, so I was only gonna like this so much. It's not bad. I see why people like it. There's just too much angst and vampires for me. Also the love interest age gap is weird.

I’ve been wanting to read this series for years. When the books came out I was a teenager and I was scared by the fact that it was a 6 book series! 

Well now 10 years later I can say WOW. I absolutely loved this. The found family aspect, the romance , the tension , the mystery!!! 


I’m obsessed and I can’t wait to read the next one.

In books like this, Lissa would be the main character, so it’s refreshing to read the story through Rose’s POV. She’s not the princess, she doesn’t have any special powers, she’s not one of the few people alive that can do what she does. A great book, just lacks that oomph factor I give my 5 star reads.
