“How many men would she have to turn to dust before one took her seriously?”

I couldn’t wait to read the sequel after the masterpiece that Vicious was. And I’m so glad I did. Vengeful adds some new characters into the game. Marcella is such a powerful character, like “I support women’s rights but also women’s wrongs”. There’s also a new threat, EON, an organisation that imprisons EO’s which was such a realistic path for Stell to take after last book’s events. Eli suffers more than Ever but also hallucinates about Victor (ahem gay). Victor on the other hand should’ve gotten rest in this book but of course, it wouldn’t be this book if he had. Overall, I loved the sequel and I’m looking forward to the third book!

Ugh, I love all these morally gray ExtraOrdinaries! I really, really want more to this series. I want Dom back and Victor with Mitch and Syd again and for Eli to resurrect because it doesn't feel like Victor can exist if Eli doesn't so it's not even that I want him back, just that you can't have one without the other, and I want Syd to get rid of those damn finger bones for good.

The second book in my opinion was just as good as the first which doesn’t always happen in duologies. But I loved the new characters and retouching in the old characters too. You pick your sides and hope that your characters will live but there is a battle coming between law enforcement and the characters with abilities. I think it was such a great job with a unique concept. I hope she writes more!

This is a 4.5 rating, and the reason it doesn’t get 5 stars is because a) I wanted more from the ending, b) I wanted more from the final confrontation. I felt like it would have been nice to see Eli interact with Marcella more but also, to close the chapter with Victor properly (no I don’t think that happened), c) I really liked the introduction of the new characters and June felt a bit incomplete to me? I can’t understand her actions or why she had a killing list. In that sense I wish there had been more of her but maybe in the third book?

Overall, I loved it. Team Valle.
