This book was ok. I liked the length - I read it in just a few hours. I think if it had been longer or more drawn out, it would have been much harder to read.

The main characters were likable and I think their reasons for thru-hiking were well developed. The writing and pace were good and kept me intrigued.

My main complaint is that the AT didn't play a bigger role. Some here and there places were mentioned but that was it... the trail was just a back drop and I thought it would have a bigger role in the story.

Overall, it was ok.

This book was nothing like I had expected it would be. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't amazing, either. The characters could have been developed more, and I would have liked to have seen more of the experience on the actual AT. The book is less than two hundred pages, but like six narratives are introduced and while they intertwine, having all of those POVs in such a small span of time meant it was harder to really dig beneath the surface of the characters. Plus, the "big mystery" is basically given away within the first two chapters of the book. So. That was kind of disappointing. I did like some elements, though. I particularly liked Leona's chapters.

All in all, it was a pretty average book.
