Not a great book for a read aloud but the art is worth 5 stars alone. I enjoyed the story, but as with most Wisener books, the art captures my attention fully.

An interesting take on how art looks different for every person.

Peculiar but awesome, which is a reasonable expectation from any Wiesner book. The idea of painting a fellow being's form is exploded in this way, to the point of unraveling. At which point the book goes meta a-la Daffy Duck. Kind of mind-blowing.

Great for one on one reading. Harder to translate into a story time read aloud.

I can see this book getting used in lots of art classes and programs because it would be hard not to get inspired to try a few of these art techniques. Very fun!

Well that was loads of fun! Showing several different types of artwork, and how much fun each can be.

This was really beautiful! The artwork is amazing and I love the creativity in every aspect of this book. Great gift for younger readers. Really fast to read, you'll spend most of the time talking about the artwork.
