I'm not sure why I keep doing this to myself. I always want these "psychological thrillers" to be good, or at least interesting, or at the very, VERY least to have some sort of twist that I don't figure out within the first 50 pages. But, alas.

The characters, especially Morgan, were flatter than frogs hit by all eighteen wheels of a semi. Even the dogs were underdeveloped.

Add this one to the towering stack of less-than-thrilling-thrillers clogging the arteries of bookstores everywhere. The cheeseburger smells so good, but I'll try harder to remember next time how awful it makes me feel after I'm done eating it.

I tore through this book. After reading all the bad reviews, I was sure I wasn't going to like it. But I was wrong. The Hand That Feeds You is a neat little thriller, made more interesting due to the narrator's job. It was quite and easy and engaging read!

I’m still angry at myself for not seeing the twist. I loved the ending and how it was a sweet little note. It made me feel closure.

The most inventive and fun murder mystery/thriller I’ve read this year. The story got more predictable near the end, but maintained the gritty, tense tone that had me compulsively reading it. Love that it drops you right into the crime scene from page one too. There’s no lengthly exposition to be found and that’s perfect for a book like this.

Morgan's fiance dies in an apparent dog mauling in her apartment although his body is so mutilated that they can't really tell if it's actually him--however, they don't seem to do DNA analysis on him to ensure it is him...or find out if it was murder.

The protagonist Morgan isn't very smart. Her sleuthing abilities are limited, but perhaps I have limited compassion for people who do not try to verify any information a betrothed gives you. Particularly in the internet age. You haven't been to his house, haven't met his friends, haven't met his family, don't have verification of where he works, etc.?!

There is a lot of dog talk in this book. I don't mind dogs, but it's a LOT for a book that isn't entitled "Marley and Me." I suppose dogs are the genesis of the book title.

While I like the premise of the book, the novels veers in directions that make me want to ask questions like a forensic investigator that no one else seems to ask and pound my head against a wall.

You might guess quite quickly who the killer is and the tension is more about when the MC is gonna figure it out and WHY the killer does what they do.

SpoilerUnfortunately, her actions make no sense to me? Why did Billie dognap Pat's Rottweiler? Was she afraid that if the police had the dog, it would tell them who killed her owner? Like ...for why??
