One of the best fantasy novels I have read in awhile. Another concept that I wish I had of come up with.

The grip this book had on my life, and the way the opening scene has haunted me for the last 10yrs — means this book deserves all the stars and a reread.

Fallon does an incredible job of ratcheting up the tension in this, and the Immortals are at once sympathetic, terrifying, and callous.

I *highly* recommend the entire Tide Lords series.

read it. kept waiting for something to happen. lots of mystery and intrigue. don't like good people being used by evil, and yet, it's probably more true to life.

I enjoyed this book overall, and the writing style it used, but by the end I found that I'd lost any respect I had for Cayal. His backstory was full of too many questionable and downright gross actions for me to care about him. I may eventually read the next one, but for now I'm putting this series on hold.

Fun! Unexpected, picked up on a whim with no foreknowledge. Let's see where this goes.

I really love the concept and storytelling in this book. The whole idea of the Tide Lords is brilliant and the world building that goes with it makes it even better.
I got a little bored with the story and felt that it took a bit too long to get somewhere really interesting but great writing and great potential will definitely convince me into reading the rest of the series.
