I love, love, love this series. The characters, representation, the different worlds. The balancing of the fantasy worlds and the jarring return. This book still has good representation and an interesting world...it just didn't hold my interest like the previous works in the series. I'll continue reading the series, but this installation just wasn't the same.

“There’s nothing wrong with being limited, as long as you have people around you that make sure those limitations don’t get you hurt. Or drenched.”

This was a perfect read to help fight the seasonal depression. The grass isn’t too green in winter where I live, so I enjoyed reading about the beautiful grass in the Hooflands.

After a rocky start to my reading year, I really needed a book like this. I finished it in a day and it was a solid 4 stars.

Growing up in the Midwest of the US, I’ve definitely come across a few “horse girls” in my day. Some of Regan’s interactions on the playground brought me back to elementary school
