I liked this book, it kept me interested and turning the pages quickly, as a good thriller should. The characters are well developed and the author does well to give enough time to all four of the main characters involved so that each is done justice.
He also paints a vivid picture of pre-war life for the aristocracy in Britian, and I was surprised how seemingly little is different to the setting of Jane Austen's books set 100 years previous.
For me though, the author did not manage to avoid many of the classic thriller clichés. The action sequences felt a bit silly and the sex a bit gratuitous.
Overall, it was decent, it certainly wasn't going to win any literary prizes but it's worth a read if you're into thriller-types.
