WOWOWOWOW! Dr. Gawande sure knows how to WRITE. Every chapter was new, fresh, and made me THINK. I am still thinking about this book a week later. He talks about a lot of stuff that most doctors wouldn't want to talk about (malpractice, making mistakes, not being the best program/hospital/doctor, should doctors be ranked?, ect.) I am incredibly impressed and already bought more of his books. LOVE LOVE LOVE.

Fascinating. Gawande is pretty much the Malcolm Gladwell of medicine. He explains interesting connections and talks about unusual problems and solutions. And he writes with an ease and simplicity that makes his discussion of medicine clear to any reader.

This book was much more informative than other works I’ve read by Gawande. It was a very important read, especially for those of us who work or wish to work within the healthcare system. It was overall a great insight into willingness to improve and the means by which we might achieve such success.

I really love Gawande's writing and perspective. He gives very digestible explanations of medical practices and evolutions. His books (and articles) do well to empower patients.
