Thought this would be a continuation of where the first book in the series left off, but it's more of a "wait, I forgot to tell you about the time....". It starts back at the beginning with more crazy stories.

Very fun - vivid and funny descriptions of the oddities (human and otherwise) Durrell encountered on Corfu in the 1930s.

One of the best endings to a book I've ever read! I'm looking forward to the final installment in this trilogy.

Whilst the language and imagery of this second tale is as beautiful as the first, it reads as almost a retelling of the first book yet with less detail and more jumping around the timeline.
