Ngl this book to ages to get good only for it to be over and not done well. The protagonist was super annoying and not a good feminist or person and also it was legit just an exorcism. Kinda lazy imo.

This gripping tale combines different genres to explore important and complex topics through its well-researched historical setting. The main character's life - which has been shaped by her childhood in Trieste with her Slovene parents - is shaken by Italy's alignment with Germany in the years leading to WWII and attempts to comprehend what this means for her friends, herself and even her newly formed family. This was the first book I read from the author, and I will definitely be looking out for more!
