I love Fae in any shape and form, so this book is definitely a win for me. Is a story of Violet Fairdale, who is training to be a guardian for years. She is about to graduate top of her class, when simple job in human realm goes sideways.

I love the faerie realm, the author took classical approach to faeries and made it her own.

Thing are not what they seem. I especially love the relationship. One felt kind of insta-loveish, and I love who that turned out. I was actually rooting for the other guy (I was right:D).

I read it really fast, it is really gripping and fast paced.

My only problem. It wasn't memorable enough. I'm writing this review next day and I have trouble remembering what happens.

I really wanted to like this book. Because fairies, and magical world, and paranormal romance... what's not to love about all that? But at the same time it felt so no fresh, like I had read it a thousand times or I had seen the film or something so similar I couldn't care.
The main character kept making decisions that felt so rushed I wanted to throw the book on her head. And then, her decisions didn't even have consequences and this was even worse.

You know what, it wasn't half bad - I loved the "creepy hollow" - it entertained me immensely, I liked hearing about the different apparent animals, fae, good/bad - the action and the magic, the betrayal and the forgiveness - I did however dislike the male perspective at the end, why not mix it in the appropriate part, why confuse me so?

Ahh, yes. Another book from 2012 with a snarky female heroine who’s ‘not like the other girls’ and is special because she has purple hair and magic no one else can use.

Definitely don’t go into this for the fae aspect, because I’m not even sure you can really call them that. Violet is just a teenage girl with purple hair, and that’s the only way you know she’s a faerie.

Overall, this was disappointing and I would not recommend.
