I'm so glad Brandee and I decided to resume this series as a buddy read for Can You Read a Series in a Month! It's been years since I read Foreplay but it took me surprisingly very little time to fall back in with these characters. I didn't even read the blurb, so I didn't know what to expect. I was not disappointed! Brandee loved it as well!

Emerson was a very complex character, which I loved. She has this image as a flirt, tease, and basically very promiscuous. But it didn't take long to realize that there was a lot more to her than the image she was showing to everyone - even her closest friends. And Shaw, a man she meets while stranded at a biker bar, he sees through her better than everyone. Their chemistry was electric to read and I loved his persistence as Emerson kept trying to revert back to being in control.

It was great as the layers started to peel away from Emerson and see how she came to put up this protective wall. I had two small complaints. (1) Everything really came to a head and resolution very quickly at the end... I wouldn't have minded seeing it spread out a BIT more and (2) since we're never in Shaw's POV, we didn't get to know him nearly as well as I would have liked - he has some issues that are not really resolved by the end of the book.

I've already picked up the third and final book in the series and can't wait to see how the last of these college roommates and friends finds her HEA.

What can I say about this book...well its by Sophie Jordan so that is already a plus for me because I LOVED Foreplay and all the characters I met in that book. And also this book is part of the same series as Foreplay so I got to see all the same character, including Reese and Pepper, which was a huge plus because I loved them so much!

Tease is a New Adult novel, and I have to say that Sophie Jordan has quickly become one of my favorite authors in this genre, because I think she encapsulates exactly what young people in college are feeling, and the experiences they have. And she is quite good at write boys, very good at writing boys ;) Tease follows one of Peppers friends, Emerson, who is known around campus as a tease. She flirts with lots of boys and is know to be a bit easy when she has a few drinks. Then she meets Shaw, of Shaw how I love him. Shaw sees through Emerson's shield and realizes that she isn't the person everyone thinks she is. Emerson has never liked a boy the way she liked Shaw so the dynamic of these two characters is great because they are polar opposite if each other, yet they seem to complete each other in ways they never expected.

Emerson was a great character to narrate this novel because she was so much like all girls when they go to college. They want everyone to think they are one thing so that they don't really see who they are. I related a lot to this, and I think a lot of readers will too. Emerson was extremely sarcastic, which is a favourite trait for me, and I think I liked her more than I liked Pepper in Foreplay (which is saying a lot!). Emerson just seemed more in tuned with what was going on around her and not afraid to speak her mind, on certain things, and I loved that quality in her.

Shaw. How I adored this boy, he was such a great character to fall in love with because he had such a hard exterior and yet he was the complete opposite in real life. He is such a sweetie and I fell for him well before Emerson ever did. I liked Shaw with Emerson because he fit well with her personality. She was all about spewing BS in the beginning and he would have none of it. Their banter was great to read and I loved watching their relationship grow, especially near the end when we realize what Emerson was really holding back.

Although the overall story was a bit cliched I loved every second of this novel. I never wanted it to end. I loved these characters, I love this author and I love this series more than I ever thought I would. I seriously cannot wait for the next book in The Ivy Chronicles, Wild to comes out in November! I want to know all about what happened to Georgia!

I have come to expect certain somethings *cough cough*---sexy, sexy times---when it comes to Sophie Jordan's writing, and she has yet to let me down. From her YA series to her New Adult, Jordan has a way of grabbing hold of you and she can tell one heck of a story. I absolutely loved Foreplay--honestly, it's among some of the best New Adult I've read--and I was dying to get my hands on Tease. Imagine my surprise and delight at snagging an ARC at RT! I certainly didn't waste any time in digging into it, and now that I've had a day to process, I'm finally able to get my thoughts down.

Emerson has spent the last two years in college setting herself up as the stereotypical party girl without a care in the world. She doesn't do relationships---At. All.---but she certainly gets off on random hookups. Being in control is the only way Emerson feels grounded, and she's not looking to shatter the carefully constructed walls she's set around her heart. Furthermore, Emerson lives by her three cardinal rules, and the moment Shaw enters her life, her rules start going out the window.

The Emerson we meet in Foreplay is the Emerson she shows the rest of the world: the carefree party girl going from one boy to the next. The Emerson we get to know in Tease is a completely different person. Does she like to have fun? Certainly. But mostly it's all a show to her, and the more time Emerson spends obsessing over Shaw, the more those random hookups fall flat. The idea that things are changing--her feeling in particular--completely terrify Emerson. She hasn't truly let herself care about anyone in such a long time that all these feelings Shaw brings forth seem frightening and too real.

The book's title certainly fits the story because throughout the first half of the book, Emerson gets off on being a tease. It's easier than admitting feelings for the "wrong" (but oh, so right) kind of boy. As the story progresses, you learn about Emerson's insecurities and the reasons she has for running away from anything real. Furthermore, it's not what happened to her itself that scars her, but the lack of support she got, and once you see that, you start to understand Emerson more and more.

Now, onto the good part. I loved Shaw. He's strong and sexy and mysterious and oh so appealing. Having just come back from a tour, Shaw's a little rusty when it comes to interacting with other people, and he comes off downright pushy in regards to Emerson. I loved that he pushed her boundaries. He's determined, I'll also give him that, and the chemistry and sexual tension was evident with every interaction. What more could I ask? Plus, Shaw certainly knows what he wants, and he's not afraid to go for it. Shaw could also be described as an alpha male, because he defends what's his--as you see later in the book--and I'm probably now just gushing, but I just thoroughly enjoyed his and Emerson's conversations.

Sophie Jordan certainly knows how to write sexy, steamy scenes and it's evident with every look, banter and touch between Emerson and Shaw. Most importantly, you truly get to see and feel the connection these two characters form. With every push and determined action, Emerson's walls start coming down and the barriers are disappear, little by little. Tease is everything I could have asked for in a sequel. We still get to see more of Pepper and Reece (which is always a treat!) and we get a glimpse into what's in store for Georgia. Nevertheless, I can't sing enough praises, and now I'm just dying to read the final book in the series, Wild--which is Georgia and Logan's story.

Nothing in this book was too original, but I did stay up until 2 AM to finish it, so I guess it was entertaining enough.

I adored Foreplay but sadly I can't say the same about Tease. Which is a shame really because I love Emerson in the first book. I feel like there's nothing more to this story than sexual encounters.

The third book sounds fun!
SpoilerUuuuu Georgia and Logan??? Now that is interesting.

Ganz ok für zwischendurch, aber die Autorin wühlt leider ganz tief in der "New Adult"-Klischeeschublade.
