i love love loved this book!!

Amy and Sophie both are so lovable. they both have so many wants and dreams and fears and stressors and trauma and grief and yet they're both so strong!! they have so much love to give!! they both just want to be happy and do what they love!!

i'm sure dating/falling for a coworker is hard in some ways, but i loved seeing the way they interacted at work once they started sleeping together and the ways they made space for each other. and i love knowing that they thought they were being subtle, but you KNOW everyone in the restaurant knew what was going on.

and they both have such good support systems!! Amy has Wes and Jeremy and Sophie has Natalie and even though they may not have a ton of people (each), it's all about quality, not quantity. those people are steadfast supports for them and that's what's important!!

also, the club?? the sex after?? SO HOT. SO SEXY. DEAR LORD. 🥵

I enjoyed these characters - secret crush, grump/sunshine, working together. Looking forward to more from this author.

A delightfully fluffy sapphic romance. I appreciated how this book handled a newly out baby bi with seriousness and legitimacy, and it addressed bi-erasure and bi-phobia really well!

Yeah this book was not that great. For a short book there was a lot of meaningless fluff thrown in.

I did like the characters but not their decisions? It was endearing at times but I found myself skimming towards the end just trying to finish.

I typically delight in a good opposites attract romance where, because of the rules of the trope, they have to work together for some common purpose. So I was optimistic starting this one where a chef and an owner battle to save their restaurant.
I'm giving Sophie and Amy a healthy serving of three stars. The plotting and development of their relationship felt fresh, as did the surprise that this is not a faking-a-relationship-for-tv romance despite Sophie's background as a television chef. I also adore a character like Sophie who falls too hard and too fast, and who knows it. Also, she power lifts as a hobby. That's my girl.
Meanwhile, the type-A, hard-edged Amy felt muddy at times. At one point early on, she grabs Sophie and jumps up and down. Squealing. Who exactly is this woman supposed to be? But, whether your click with her, you will be rooting for the resturant.
The fourth star is for Carina Adores giving their LGBTQ+ romance line plenty of hot on-page sex. While I love romances with all different levels of explicitness, it's great to a see a trad publisher keeping things on the page for their queer couples. Also, cooking romances cannot resist playing on 'heat levels' in their taglines, so I appreciate in this foodie romance cooling off in the walk-in refrigerator was actually necessary.
