I usually really like David Baldacci's books, and I did like this one, but it wasn't up to his usual standards. I'll look forward to his next book and hope that this one was a fluke.

Highly highly predictable. Not one of baldacci's better books. In fact rather poor.

This was not my favorite (I did enjoy it though!) -- probably doesn't help that it's coming after what is likely to be my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE for the series forever -- but the pacing was slower and let's face it, Robie is an assassin, not a detective. So when he has to wear his detective hat he doesn't do as well. I mean, as a frequent reader of mysteries I seemed to pick up on more than he did (not that I would at any time consider myself a detective lol).

That said, I did enjoy getting to know a bit about Robie's past and a greater understanding of how he came to this point in his life. And while I did pick up on a lot, I didn't see the ending coming. The resolution was a shocking and a bit heartbreaking for me (I'd say more, but I think it would teeter too close to being a spoiler). I continue to really enjoy seeing Robie and Real together and I'm hoping we'll see them because an actual couple in future books.

Continuing to love the audio performances - I find this style of narration where one narrator does all the male voices and another does all the female voices to be a real treat.

Decent thriller with engaging mystery. The story is the kind of macho gun-slinging thing I'm not that into.

A goof way to pass a 14 hour drive. An interesting audio production with two narrators and sound effects. The story was puzzling and keep you guessing.

Meh. Not my cup of tea but will admit that I didn't see the twist coming. I guessed wrong. Recommended by my father in law. I can see why it appeals to 70+ year old men.

This book had a slow start but I really ended up enjoying this one. It's not my favourite of the series but definitely worth the read.

Interesting family tangles which made this more realistic for me!
