Such a sweet book. I love children’s novels and this is one I loved when I was younger. Read it again for the first time in 15 years and it’s even sweeter now. A heavy fairy tale that’s sad and beautiful. Can’t wait to read to my kids one day.

A delightful little tale about the healing power of love and dreams. Not to be missed.

(Catching up on old reviews from pre-blogging and pre-Goodreads days. Written on 7/23/21 but the book was read years ago. I'm working off my notes.)

Really liked this book--a quick read about dreams, nightmares, strength and where they come from. Cute.

As a child/tween reading this the first time, I was caught up in the imagery and metaphor of dreamgiving, and identified with Littlest. As an adult, this book made me cry. I'm more aware of and connected to the humans' perspectives. The awful experiences aren't some abstract bad thing but reference a whole picture that I'm familiar with now. And of course I've had many more good and bad dreams. Lowry depicts the nonsensical but emotional heart of dreams so well.
