An excellent poem with great rhyme and meter accompanied by contemporary illustrations that work very well.

This was a lovely dark poem.  I've heard it, maybe read it before, but I just hadn't put together that this book on my TBR list was the poem.

Read this one in junior high and wrote an alternate last stanza for an assignment - lots of fun!

I read this poem in high school and I loved it then. After re-reading I love it even more now. Both beautiful and haunting I will remember this for years to come.
