Quick Info
Standalone/Cliffhanger?: Cliffhanger
Part of a Series?: Yes
----------------------------------
Meeting the Characters
Jade Storm
Zeke
Zion
Zackery
Zeus
----------------------------------
What happens?
Jade is enrolled rather reluctantly into the Hive academy for Trackers. On her first day she is introduced to four other new students all quadruplets with Z names (I won't list they're right above..)
Jade is some what against following rules and tasks set by authority figures and so causes problems wherever she goes.
Final thoughts
I love Jade. She was what I wanted Bri to be. Shes sassy, shes kick ass, she is a bit annoyingly rude in some situations but its a front for the secret she is hiding.
I also love the quad. Completely inappropriately in love with them. I don't think I could share but if these were real people I'd probably be tempted.
Jade isn't a shy unbecoming virgin, shes had sex before she just has never done the love and relationship situation. I really think that is nice for her that we see her character evolve even towards the end of this book into being open with that.
Would I read again?: Yes

The beginning & the works building was amazing. I loved every bit of it. And it was packed with action magic scenes. But then she entered the academy...the first fight scene had me completely excited and thought "that will surely be the best action packed with magic series but then fout hot guys appeared..and the rest of the book (almost 65%) was just a reverse harem...i almost forgot it was a fantasy book about a magical world. I don't think I'll continue this one !!! I really wanted to finish the book to see if there was a (continuity of the first) plot..but nothing just 4 hot guys and a girl....and smut all the way.
I really loved the 4-part series """Darkblood Academy""" by G.K. DeRosa...and thought it would be the same universe...but no...just complete smut/Harem....3 stars only for the world building and the beginning that got me really much excited

It wouldn’t have normally taken me 9 days to read a book but I was on vacation last week and had a ton to do, so reading was put on the back burner unfortunately.

This was, however, a pretty quick read once I sat down and started. I am in love with this series already. Jade is badass and I wish I could be like her lol. So Jade meets these hot and sexy brothers and it’s like insta-love. Normally I hate that but in this book it just worked. Jade and her men all fit perfectly together and I love how they compliment each other. The ending about gave me a heart attack so I’m definitely looking forward to reading the next book in the series

It was awesome!

Jade, Zeus, Zeke, Zion, and Zackery are characters that will will be stuck in your mind long after the story is over. I am anxiously awaiting book 2 so I can read more about them and know what happens next.

Jade has the power of all eight elements, something really rare. However, to become an adult Tracker, she has to go to an academy—no matter that the best Tracker raised her and taught her everything. Someone is pulling the strings, and when she meets four brothers at the academy, she needs to figure out how they are connected to her.

I've had multiple re-read of this book, but the last one left me a little bit disappointed. In a year and a half, my taste changed, and now I felt like both Jade and Shadow Jade are really childish, and the same can be said for the four guys and the rest of her family. This though was a trait that I really appreciated and enjoyed the first couple of times that I read this story.

The Tracker Hive Academy: Year One is book one in Avery Song's Jade Storm Tracker series. I have to say first of all...I LOVE that the author gives the reader Jade's early years. When I realized this I devoured that section of the book. Normally authors give us flashbacks or little tastes of life WAS like for them, but we got to experience it with Jade as she stayed on the run from the men who wanted to drag her to the Black Market for her unique and rare abilities. Fast forward 10 years and we get to the good stuff!
I truly enjoyed this book. I will admit that the author had me fluctuating back and forth on whether I really liked Jade or not. One minute I did and then came the snark and inappropriate commentary and I was like "ack!" I can't help it. I was the good girl growing up and when she does crazy stuff I keep waiting on a reprimand, but it's obvious that her adoptive father has learned and perfected his best way of handling her...very hands off. It bugs me for a bit, but then I'm just like...eh. I'll roll with it. I do think it's a bit crazy that my favorite character seems to be Shadow Jade. She's so cute! LOL! Weird..but cute and that I can relate to. The better I get to know Jade though the more I can understand her and on some levels relate to her as well.
For me, this story ebbs and flows. It has fast-paced moments and then it slows down. When the story slows down in places I get anxious for some action, but then the author gives me something to sink my claws into. I like the intense moments that Jade finds herself in. I appreciate the author showing me her more vulnerable side in those moments. They are few and far between, but I'd like to see more. I like the twists and the way the story weaves together to see if you're really paying attention.
I am rating this book 5 out of 5 stars. I can't wait for more of Jade, Shadow Jade, and these four sexy guys! I love how the author gives us so many unique characters, situations and surprises. I can't wait to hear more of Shadow Jade's "Kill" song and hilarious moments. If you are a fan of Avery Song, like me, grab this book! Totally worth it!
