This was going to be a 4 star read but unnecessary misgendering and deadnaming will get any book knocked down. It’s 2022. I don’t care how minor the character is (literally a throwaway line and only mentioned once) or that this book takes place in what is probably a Conservative county in Texas - transphobia is not okay.
