SCHOOL LIBRARIAN'S REVIEW:
Fun book about some quirky kids who have an incredible adventure. Kids will love the drawings that do a great job adding to the story. It has twins, a few great plot twists, and a bunch of silly stereotypes that the author plays with in interesting ways. (IE: the Kidd kids are: a musclebound idiot, an 'ugly' brainiac, and the twins have mind-reading abilities, etc...) I love that the author has added a ton of 'education' in to the novel. Geography, Art History, Law, and Vocabulary are integral parts of the story-line, which may just add to your readers brain power through his/her subconscious.

Highly recommended for all libraries!

I started reading this book because I was looking for middle grade books to read as pseudo-research for a book I want to write. I did not expect to love this but I did. The Kidds are the most charming family ever. The trouble they find themselves is exciting and often hilarious. It's a well paced book with great illustrations. I bought a copy for my niece as well and will be gobbling all the sequels, too.

Great adventure story with lists of mystery and twists and turns. I am happy to have a "boy book" to recommend, bit of course, I am a girl and I enjoyed it too!

Fun little book! My son and I listened to it in the car each morning as I drive him to school.

I like James Patterson's Maximum Ride series and wanted to try out one of his children's books. I like that there are short chapters and it was easy for me to get sucked into the story. The beginning of the story tells you about a storm that leads to their father going missing, but he left a list of clues for his four children to follow. I recommend this book if you like adventure!

A fantastic chapter book for the upper middle schoolers - boys and girls will enjoy it. The illustrations are the best part!

Probably some 10 year old kid who hates reading might like this, but I couldn't wait for it to end. And why make fun of the overweight child? Ugh. My 1st & last Patterson. (Still love his website to get kids reading, just not this series!)

Thought this was a boring one but then I started loving the diversity of the characters. 39 Clues fever renewed.
