"I don't date players."
hahahahha You silly goose.

The publicist and the football player....forbidden. Oh well, we're going to do this anyway and we are going to pretend we can stop but you know we can't. So now what? No worries! Lauren knows how to sort a love story without causing me any anxiety and I love her for that.

Reading a Lauren Blakely novel is always a good time. She pens these fantastic contemporary romances that have a good balance of swoons and humor that I just eat right up. Most Likely to Score is all that and more.

Most Likely to Score is about Jones Beckett, the star receiver of the Renegades, and Jillian Moore, the Renegades's publicist. We met both in Most Valuable Playboy (the first book in Lauren's connected standalone sports romances--check out my review) where we learned that Jones has a thing for the brilliant publicist. In Most Likely to Score, we find out that Jillian has been crushing hard on Jones for a long time, but ever the professional she kept that locked up tight. Jillian has learned early on in her career never to mix business with pleasure. Neither was aware of the other's feelings. While Jones takes every opportunity to flirt with Jillian, to her that's just how Jones operates--he's a very friendly, amiable guy and she enjoys their banter. Besides, Jones's new sponsorship deals depend on him cleaning up his past playa reputation and Jillian is just the person to help him out. Starring in Jillian's new pet project, a charity calendar, is a step in the right direction for Jones. But, as the two of them work and travel together for the photoshoots, the harder it is to keep a lid on their feelings for each other.

Okay, you know that part in the synopsis that goes And oh hell, did Jillian ever drag her nails down my back on one hell of a hot night. Okay fine, it was several hot nights on the road. That actually didn't happen until past the halfway point in the novel. The first half were Jillian and Jones getting to really know each other. Even though they'd worked together for a long time as player and publicist they realized there's a lot they don't know about each other. Like, the fact that they're both very family oriented people. But, the more they get to know each other and spend time together, the more their feelings grow and trying to keep things strictly professional between them become harder and harder. When they finally get together, all their pent up lust and feelings made for, as the synopsis says, one hell of a hot night.

Jones may be is my new favorite Lauren Blakely hero. He was the perfect mix of flirty, charming, and alpha. He's kind and caring and he loves his family and want to take care of them, and he loves animals. Plus, he's a sexy football player to boot! As for Jillian, if I can't be her then I want to be her best friend. She's smart, confident, she's brilliant at her job and has the respect of her co-workers (including the players), loves clothes, she's really close to her widowed dad, and I love the fact even though she was adopted from China when she was a baby and considers herself a California girl, she embraces her Chinese culture. Jones and Jillian were great characters individually, and together their chemistry was piping HOT.

Lauren Blakely did an excellent job with this slow burn forbidden romance. I thought it was paced wonderfully. I liked the sweet moments between Jones and Jillian in the first half of the book, all the while their repressed feelings for each other simmered beneath the surface. If a slow burn forbidden romance with the perfect amount of humor and swoons is your cup of tea, I highly recommend you pick up Most Likely to Score.

I liked Jones and Jillian's friendship and how it slowly transformed to more. They both put everything on the line for each other and I liked that it wasn't rushed at all. Jones' family and Jillian's father were funny and heartwarming and they were well developped for such a short story.

I received an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review. Review and release day launch can be found on *Milky Way of Books*

This delightful story of romance and comedy was a nice and enjoyable read! Jilian and Jones are of those couples you can't help but root for, with their antics and inner thinking! I like Lauren Blakely and the freedom she gives in her characters to be funny, sexy and smart in any case.

This was a lighthearted and fun story. That was easy to read, held my interest and kept me entertained throughout.
As both main characters were likable, shared lots of flirty banter, a few sparks and hit moments. And anyone who is a fan of Lauren Blakely is sure to enjoy Most Likely To Score as much as I did.

Someone pass me a number 86 Renegades jersey because I have a new favorite player to root for.

Most Likely to Score is everything I could have hoped for. After reading Most Valuable Playboy, I was desperate for Jones and Jillian's story. To say I was not disappointed would be a giant understatement. I LOVED it!! This book was super flirty and sweet. Not to mention hot!! (Ahem, fantasy enactment scene.) With Jillian Moore being the team's PR woman and Jones Beckett being the star wide receiver, the forbidden element was absolutely delicious.

Labeled as the team's "player" Jones Beckett is in need of an image change to please his sponsors. Jillian comes up with an idea of a charity calendar that will help both Jones’s image as well as elevate her standing in her quest to earn the new VP position. The project causes them to travel and spend a lot of time together - including an overnight stay in another city. As time goes on feelings grow. Since she works for the team and he has a reputation, they know they shouldn't be together. The tension builds and it was sooo good!

Jones flirtatious nature, his charisma, and his charm, has made him one one of my favorites. The heart on that man gave me all the swoons. The player reputation and negative headlines do not take away what a great guy he is. He is a perfect counterbalance to Jillian. I completely adored her!! She is so smart and professional and she's not afraid to unleash her quick wit and sass. I loved loved loved their chemistry and their banter.

Most Likely To Score is a perfect pass into the end zone for a game winning touchdown and I can't get enough of it. I kind of want to reread it immediately. Lovers of Lauren Blakely, sport romances, rom-coms or just really good stories should pick this book up ASAP. You won't be disappointed.
