Fast-paced, this book works like a police report of e-mail and message exchange. The format was the first thing that left an impression on me, making the whole plot feel much more impersonal.

What starts as a suspiciously innocent interaction (derived from the naïvety of one of the characters which can sometimes be almost irritating), soon turns into a twisted and dark tale that I couldn't have anticipated. While short, it still retains enough detail that allows the reader to have a vivid (too vivid) image of the events, even appealing to other senses. It's hard for me to find a piece of writing that makes my skin crawl, but this one did exactly that. As much as I found myself frustrated by the end of the book, with many questions unanswered, I think this is one of those cases that teaches you that you don't have to find the meaning behind everything.

An intriguing, fast-paced downward spiral with a unique format. Not as shocking as people made it seem but definitely heed the content warnings, it does get graphic!
I wouldn’t go to this book for representation by any means, but the characters’ queerness makes certain parts of the narrative much more compelling.

This was an bizzare read that I absolutely did not enjoy, but it was quite good.

In summary, this is a documentation of a dissolution into madness. Additionally, the reader gets dragged along to witness the disturbing descent.

The writing is eloquent and quite disarming at times with a story-telling pace, but the charm is quickly contrasted by the dark purpose of the discourse between the women, the relaying of a debauched or sinister thrill.

Loved the ambiguity of the women and that it was a very quick escalation - I thought both of these factors promoted the unsettling gnaw that the derailment could not be stopped. I did find some of the pacing a bit disjointed, and the inclusion of the contract felt unnecessary for the plot.

Lots of gross and vivid imagery, very gritty and grim 'plot', a trainwreck that is hard to look away from.

That… sure was a book.
It was attention grabbing and it kept me wanting to know what will happen. Some of the descriptive language was really quite incredible (in the less icky bits). But it was also just so profoundly weird and off putting. I feel like I would’ve enjoyed it more if it was longer and the absurdity developed over time, very 0 to 100 real quick. An uncomfortable read but a read I still think was worth reading?
