I’m going to be honest. I have no recollection of what happened in this book. I read the entire series so quickly that all of the books meshed together so I don’t know which things happened in what book lol. But I do know that I liked it!

Gideon and Eva keep getting closer and accepting their place in each other's lives. The problem is the outside world keeps trying to get in the way. Past relationships and dark deeds haunt the couple's progress as they continue to heal the pain of the past. This series is raw, real, and spicy. Deep emotions mix with that  sexual tension that will keep readers turning pages into the wee hours of the morning.

I’ve noticed that the change in this books usually come at the end rather quickly so it looks like I’m reading a different book sometimes. Anyways going into book four!

For most of the book, it seemed like the story was in limbo, even with Eva and Gideon getting married, but much develops for the others in their orbit whom I've grown to care about such as Cary and Mark. The exciting things to happen to Eva and Gideon come towards the end with Corinne's hospitalisation and Eva's video.

I was quite disappointed when I found out this was not the last book in the series. The love story is being drawn out a bit too long, but its not going to stop me from reading the next one.

There are rare times in my reading when I wait up until midnight to get a brand-new book hot on my Kindle. Tuesday night I waited until 12:40am before calling it a day so I powered through this amazing book all day Wednesday. I am so happy I waited because I enjoyed it so much more after a good night's sleep. Let me start with a brief summary and then we can get to the good stuff.

SpoilerAt the end of the second Crossfire novel, Gideon confessed to murdering Eva's rapist/tormentor Nathan from her childhood. Eva, unsure how to move forward, tries to accept it. Gideon recognizes Eva was deeply hurt by his distance and desperately tries to rectify the problem by renting the apartment next door to hers and dating her. Knowing they have to keep their relationship a secret they deal with a variety of external conflicts all while working to stabilize their relationship before informing others of their renewed commitment. As their relationship reaches a good place, more external conflicts emerge to try and cause them problems in all aspects of their life.

"I'm filthy rich, but you just want me for my body."

I typically have a lot of issues with relationship building in books and often comment on the unrealistic nature of the progression of that relationship. This book wowed me with the development of Eva and Gideon's relationship. Instead of them simply kissing and making up, they begin to communicate. Gideon tells Eva he will answer any question she asks but she must ask them to get an answer. He is willing to share his reasons behind things, current problems, his childhood, etc. It opens a great deal of trust to the relationship and it was amazing to see.

"You're my lucky charm," he said.
"Really?"
"Yep...you're magically delicious."

Eva and Gideon spend a great deal of time discussing their desire for the future. The entire story wrapped around Gideon wanting marriage and Eva to come work for Crossfire Industries. At the same time Eva wrestled with moving their relationship forward too quickly all while conceding to moving in with him. I loved the level of discussion between them as they rationally and irrationally discussed their future. Eva understood Gideon's reluctance to share a bed but at the same time worked to find a happy medium for them.

"When you say it, it means stop...When I say it, it means never stop. Whatever you're doing to me, I need you to keep doing it."

I really enjoyed the idea of taking previous conflicts and resolving them in satisfying ways. Corinne, Brett, Magdelena, Monica, Nathan, etc. were pretty much resolved in this book. New conflicts naturally arise from these resolutions but I loved not needing to wonder about Corinne, Magdelena, or Nathan in future books. At the same time I'm over the Brett story and hope it ends soon. Frankly that entire plot was unwelcome to me in the second book and I'm not excited to see it be dealt with a little more in the fourth one even when the initial conflict was resolved.

"Sex radar. I has it."

I loved how this book approached its secondary characters. For the first time Eva sat down with her mother and expressed concerns over invasions of privacy while at the same time discussing her horrific childhood with her father. Cary's story sometimes too center-stage and let me state how much I love Cary. He's so fucked up but at the same time I want a friend just like him. He's just so cuddly and confused. I can't wait to see him dealing with the fallout of the most recent problem in his life all while living in the new apartment.

"I was afraid you'd run...that you'd be afraid. Of me."

I love it when stories surprise me. The previous two books contained a lot of dark moments but this seemed to be the calm before the storm. Everything worked out. Everything was dealt with. Everything ended on a good note for Eva and Gideon. Everything is set up to be put through the wringer in future books. While I'll agree with some reviewers over this book being a bit of a filler book, I loved every second of it. I loved watching Gideon and Eva blossom in their relationship all while trying to build trust and present a united front.

"Whatever we face, we face together."

I am eagerly awaiting information about book four at the present moment. I highly, highly, highly recommend snatching up this series as soon as you can. I'm not an angst lover but Sylvia Day's Crossfire series is so angsty, its perfect. You can't help but like the bite of pain every time a bad decision is made. You can't help but read it and pressing to go forward when you know you've hit 99% just on the hope your e-reader lied to you. Seriously, check it out.

"I'd wait forever for you, as long as you're mine."

So far the second book to this series is my favorite still, but i'm glad to find out that when I got half way through this book I discovered that there is a fourth book to the series. I'm very much so sucked in and I love all the characters and I can not wait until they are brought to life on screen!!

I find this book pretty boring compared to the first two and my dislike for Eva grew immensely. Why wasn't the plotline with the rockstar tied up in this book? It made no sense she wanted to still be friends with him! If this was suppose to be the main source of tension in this book, it fell short. It was pretty lackluster. Coupled with the fact that nothing else new really happens... it was a bit of a dud for me.
