What the fuck? It gets worse than the part 1. Genuine advise for the author, do not, i repeat DO. NOT add another trope in the middle of a series. You made this long ass series a dark romance, stick with it. Do not fucking with romantasy add dark and witchcraft and boom, you think you succeed? No bitch you ruined it. You fucking ruined the book.

This is my first Amo Jones book and it has been a fucking traumatic experiences. I get that there’s people or community that love dark romance (hey i do too, zade meadows is my ultimate book bf) but the problem with this book is not the genre, it’s the fucking plot and characters and the language style. The speech is also confusing. And then there is 6.6 ft bad boy who is only 20 or 21? Who kills for fun, and loves blood play, who is obsessed with a 17 year old 5ft WITCH. I just can’t. How they communicate tho? Is this Yao Ming and Kevin Hart comparison? Cause i just cant imagine it.

this book was atrocious to say the least.

first of all, after 5 books about a mysterious gang of criminals that are above the CIA, the mafia and whatever else the fuck is there, this book starts with saint in a coven.
yes, a coven.
this book has witches in it.
because the elite king's club can't be complete without witches, obviously!

then, we get an incest trope. totally unexpected, dare i say, because apparently we needed some drama to add to this book and as cassie clare taught us when you do not know what to write you can always count on some incest storyline!
and in the end, because this book wasn't bad enough, micaela comes back.
yes, nate and tillie's spawn, and this miracle baby apparently saved saint from the magic of the mother of her husband???? can micaela just stay dead? also why was tillie crying at the mention of her name when she spent the entirety of malum part one partying while her now dead daughter was staying with her grandparents?
really, tillie, you're the mother of the year, congrats.
i hope she gets killed in the second generation, my dream would come true.

i still haven't realized what the hell i have read honestly. this book was a mess, probably because madison venari montgomery hayes whatever the hell her last name is came back and ruined everything.
oh, and saint got married AND pregnant ad 17, totally normal, right?

saint and brantley really had a LOT of potential, but that potential has been thrown under the bus by the plot, ONCE AGAIN.
trash.
this series is trash.

(i am taking tate and spyder with me. they're mine and they do not deserve to live with those deranged psychos. like, seriously, not even therapy can help them.)

ust don't know if my brain is able to get to straight scentences because like Amo does it with every of her books, she also did it with one what you ask. Putting in this where is the wall to stare at mode. Its not a secret that i needed this book with all my heart.
I really enjoyed this typical Amo Jones moments in this book for me this are this little where i sit in front of this book and how could this happen because those book allready was thrilling but it got more even if i never was sure it could be more.
From the beginning to the the intensity of this story never fell and never wanted this ride to come to an end while reading but i needed to fight myself to stop reading, because i never wanted to leave this characters behind because this whole group was at my side for four years. And beeing a part of this crazy world i as a reader got to know better book by book.
Tension was given from page one til the end. Also i really felt in love harder with Brantly and saint. Seeing them grow was an amazing reading experience.
Saint was a really interesting young Women. She doesn't shy away from figuring out the world in wich she lives in. She knows how to be a friend to you and i fell in love with her. Also she's smart and has her own way of humor.
Brantly is dark Guy who has a heart of gold. Keeping them safe who are close to him is really important. He doesn't think he deserves a girl that loves him truly. Hi fights for him self and those who are important to him. Hi lives trough rules that are making Sence to him.
To conclude i've to say that my enjoyment of this ride between tow very very complex characters and an other deepdive in Elite kings world. My heart raced for their intense love and all those plot twists. I can deeply recomend this read it got ten Stars from me.

“I think I loved him the very first day he took my hand and led me into his hell. He didn’t lead me into hell to suffer; he brought me in to sit beside his throne.”

Where to even began… there’s a quote that says “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened”. If I could sum up my feelings for this post, that would sort of it be it. I know this is a book review, so it’s expected that I give you a summary of what the story is about… but Amo’s work is so brilliant, it truly is best to go in blind. The only thing you should is that she is gonna f*** your heart up, and at the very end you will love her for it.
This book gave me everything Amo knew I would need and kept me on the edge of my seat— literally— up until the very last page. Brantley and Saint along with the other couples in this series are so dear to my heart and I couldn’t have loved their story more if I even tried.
The bond between the Kings and their Queens is untouchable and indestructible. One can only hope to achieve something similar in our lifetimes.

Amo, you poured your heart and soul into your work, and it absolutely shows. Thank you for sharing your words with the world. We are all the better for it. I bow to you, Queen

Love, love, love! I can't say it anymore than that. This was a great way to wrap up this long series, and it was glorious. The characters were intense as hell, and devious as sin, just like always. Brantly is a dirty, dirty bird, just like we always knew, and it was good to see him actually care about something other than killing. We get to see everything tied up, but not without it's moments of tears, and abject pain.
The characters leap off the pages and seem so real, this book was so intense, I wanted to throw up. I couldn't put the dang book down, only stopping when my eyes crossed. The push to read, to see what was going to happen kept pushing me. I loved every minute of this book, and I would give it all up to read this series for the first time again. I love Saint and her demeanor towards Brantley is something dreams are made of.

There is just no one like Brantley <3 <3 <3

Amo Jones writes one hell of a page turner. I have loved every SECOND of this series. It has been my go-to for re-reads when I can't get into anything else.

Why oh why make this paranormal? Everything was going fine. Why bring witches and dead people into it?

Like, I have nothing against witches - in fact, I adore them. But if you're going to have witches in a book, it better damn well be ABOUT them. They can't just be a sidenote - like, oh, yeah, and in the middle of all this fucked up chaos there is a coven of witches. But don't worry so much about them - they can somehow communicate with dead people, yeah, but that's pretty much it. We don't know a fucking thing about their history, their habits, their magic, their secrets, their rituals... Nothing. Not a thing. Why the hell even put them in here in the first place then??

The villain in this was weird - like, yeah, revenge, twisted assholes with weird principles and priorities, yay, love all that... But it was all made in such a bizarre way. The interactions with the villain and the flashbacks we got made zero sense with the complete backstory/storyline.

Spoiler Oh! And what the fuck was that whole "oh we are siblings" subplot thrown in there? Are you fucking kidding me, a villain says that to you with no proof whatsoever and you just believe it?! "Oh but she had a vision" - the only thing that vision showed was the woman giving birth to a baby girl, not that it was Saint. And even if it was Saint, there was still the possibility that she was not Brantley's mom then. And, again, Saint knew shit about her own "powers" - certainly less then Veronica. She didn't even consider the idea that perhaps the bitch was messing with her head. Anyway, that was pathetic. Pages literally thrown away.

And unfortunately, in order to "develop" this whole "plot", we had to take several steps away from the romance and sex, which were the only things keeping me reading.

Ugh.

Also, I hate hate hate the deaths that happen here (especially
Spoiler Bailey
). Maybe it was done for some future development, but I don't give a fuck, I hated it. And, again, it took us away from the romance.

So, yeah, if there was less plot and more romance and sex between these amazing characters this would've been rated much higher (at least by me).

What I love most about this series (and Amo’s writing in general) is that there is a chaotic and disorienting frenetic mania to her prose that gives her stories such a bold and consuming energy. So much so that her version of the gothic romantic suspense creates a tone, an aura that becomes a character in and of itself. A character that confronts and You don’t read an Amo Jones book- you don’t even experience it- you BLEED it. Her words, their worlds cut- small at first, but eventually she leaves you with a massive wound. But a wound energizes, invigorates, and liberates the debauched parts of our souls. And Saint and Brantley's story might be my favorite manifestation of that energy yet, because Amo paints their story in contrasts- light and dark, turbulence and peace, carnal and pure, tender and violent. Juxtapositions that not only add depth to characters but bring nuances to their entire world. Saint and Brantley may be opposites, but their souls are one.
