I'm really enjoying Waid's run on Daredevil. I don't think is as good as people said, not even close in the top 5 of Waid's work, but it has joy, it's not a "Children's funeral" and that's something I welcome wholeheartedly. Matt it's a pretty funny and likeable character when written by Waid, as opposed to his most recognizable persona under Miller's scripts, where his life is depressing and makes Spiderman look like the luckiest man on the planet.

This was pretty good but I wasn't in love with the story. In the first issue we have Matt going on a camping trip with a bunch of orphans then the next few deal with Spider-man coming to Daredevil for help with Black Cat. Then Matt has to deal with some mole man but who steals his father's body.

The Spider-man ones were okay and I liked Black Cat but the way she was drawn was just annoying. I like the art otherwise. It's very light and colorful and imma need the "I'm not Daredevil" sweater right now.

I like Matt's personality- he's not completely emo doom & gloom hero and it really matches the colorful art. It's just the actual story were all things I found very boring.

Probably would have been helpful to read the other parts of this story, but stands well enough on it's own for the most part. I liked seeing the relationship between Spiderman and Daredevil though Spiderman did just disappear for the last half of it which was a little weird. Overall the art is better than other's I've seen, though not exemplary. The beginning was a bit slow and didn't seem to relate much to the rest of the plot with the whole bus full of children, but it was interesting to read overall.I'd say if you like Daredevil at all, this is a good one to read and see his myriad of awesomeness and stuff.

“And this is why I don’t team up with Spidey often. He never shuts up.”

The pacing and direction was improved in this volume. By the end of Vol. 1, Matt Murdock was wearing a red costume that says "I'm Not Daredevil!" to a holiday work party. In this volume, we see Spider-man flippantly out Murdock in front of the new assistant D.A., and from there, his attempt at keeping a secret identity is pretty much a lost cause.

My favourite fight in Vol. 1 was against a D-list villain named Bruiser, whose costume was awesomely hilarious (imagine pro athlete corporate branding: a luchador wrestler with ALL the logos of big evil villainy organisations). It showed new, interesting things about a baddy that no one really cares about, and helped DD get away from the constant tragedy storylines by facing off against some goofball. So it was a great progression of that to see him going up against Mole Man in this trade.
