An imperfect page turner... Some of the plot twists were telegraphed... others required too great a suspension of disbelief. The characters didn't always act in ways that made any sense. But I couldn't put the book down.

After a fractious flight from London, Joanna and Alistair arrive in Australia with their young baby, Noah. On the drive to their destination they discover that Noah isn't asleep but dead.

Unsympathetic characters, good suspense, neat twist, slightly dribbled off to the end.

A sad story - so much of the time I was irritated by the main characters for making dumb decisions

Joined the masses who have just picked this one up as a result of the BBC adaptation. I really loved the series, and I'm pleased to say that the book is just as good! A gripping rollercoaster from start to end.

This was an interesting look at a terrible accident and a toxic relationship. The narrator did a really impressive Australian accent except for her constant mispronunciation of Melbourne and Geelong.

This book triggered so many of my little guilty pleasures I was hooked from the first page. The relationship dynamics between the characters, the tingly shocks from awful revelations, the secrets, the intrigue! I got that nice feeling of intellectual superiority when I picked up on hints and guessed at some of the conclusion near the start of the book.

This was great and compulsively readable, and set around my home turf. What's not to love?
