Not as good as the first one - slower, etc. plus, I’m not a fan of storylines where the MC is held captive

I actually finished this before I went to bed and started the next book.

A lot actually happens in this book and yes the slow burning romance is still ongoing. It is driving me crazy. However I am so enjoying it as well. Its nice that although you know they're crazy about each other they're not admitting it to themselves or each other just yet. So this book is a win for that.

I also enjoy the fact that we see her potential quite a lot in this book without really understanding what she is capable of but you can tell it is going to be really good and she is going to be powerful. Its nice that although she is slightly 'super' she is still fairly flawed and so sassy!

This is honestly just a really fun series that gives me the same vibes as Savage Lands and Fortuna Sworn with the types of friendships and loyalty being portrayed. Can't wait to see where this is going to go. Plus I'm enjoying watching what comes of this romance. I need more from them and I need to know more about what she can do as a dragon!

No - Helen Harper is just not for me. If I realized she was the author I probably would not have started this series. The Mc is supposed to be badass, but she is mean, abrupt and naive.

9/18 Mack is in hiding but not for long. New powers and crazy things happen. She finally realizes she likes Corrigan and saves his life and all the weres and she’s off to magic school

Eh. Not nearly enough Corrigan, and honestly the fact that Mack spent the majority of the book running away from him due to a fundamental misunderstanding is both hilarious and frustrating. She spends a lot of time interrupting people instead of actually slowing down to listen and learn, and it’s quite an annoying trope.
