It's a generic high school romance with a love triangle but surprisingly more basketball than you would expect. I'm normally not a sports fan but the basketball scenes in the manga were engaging. Overall, not a bad series and I'm glad I read it, but I wouldn't read it again. Plus, I couldn't STAND the secondary love interest he got on my nerves every time lol.

I picked this up to conclude my reading of the Waiting for Spring series.
"Waiting for Spring, Vol. 14" is the final volume of the Waiting for Spring series. This volume is a mashup of different stories that took place at different times throughout the duration of the rest of the series.
This volume was fun, and I was happy to see these characters one more time, but this volume was also not necessary. This was basically a collection of mini comics the author had published in other journals while writing the series. Because of this, the mini comics or chapters in this book are not happening sequentially, and the reader might find it most helpful to go back and reread the volumes these comics occur between. This would be a good volume to have and chip away at as you read the entire series.
As someone who was rooting for Mitsuki and Towa the entire time, I was really hoping we would get to see more of them in this volume. Although we did get a few cute moments, this volume really focused on the other characters. I still enjoyed this, but I wanted to see how Mitsuki's and Towa's relationship was going because it was only introduced later in the series.
I am so sad to see this series end, but I think this is an adorable story that I will be thinking about for a while. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants a lighthearted, feel-good manga series that is easy to binge.

So adorable! Towa was my favorite of the four guys, so I'm happy he was the main love interest. Actually, I feel like I didn't really get to know any of the guys very deeply other than their day to day personality. I didn't mind it terribly because they have so many cute and hilarious moments together as bros. Out of the other guys, I preferred Riu for his goofball personality. Kyosuke's advances kind of irked me, but I suppose he is still a very kind hearted guy. Ryujiki really underwent some real character development and became a pretty admirable guy for Nana. She seems like a really great older sister, but I wish we could have had some more scenes regarding Nana and Mitsuki's relationship. I wouldn't have minded more info about the guys' backstories either. I know they're not technically the focus, but I did get invested in everyone. Aya is a really interesting character. He really is a genuine guy, but real selfish when it comes to Mitsuki. He did provide competition for Towa, which I suppose created some pressure for romantic advances. Still not sure how I feel about that. It did force Mitsuki to be more assertive, so that's good. Always great fun to see Towa get antsy! One last note about the art style, which was incredible! Top tier

I'll be perfectly honest, I didn't really like this volume. It felt really unnecessary, and most of the extras weren't to my tastes, some of the super shorts that were only in the magazine originally were kinda funny occasionally though.

However, the last big extra, the one about Aya was totally worth it. I truly do think he's the best character in this series. We get to see so much growth from him, more than anyone else in my opinion, and his struggles that he had in the past are so much more painful than anyone else's. I just want him to be happy so bad! No one can convince me that his love for Mitsuki isn't absolutely beautiful and pure in it's own way. Don't get me wrong, Towa is a great guy, but I just don't like or connect with him as much. I think I might've fallen in love with this series if the mangaka pulled the rug out from under every reader's foot, and made Mitsuki fall in love with Aya too. But that's just me, and I still liked Waiting for Spring overall.

(rating for series) (5 stars for ART 🥵)
Giving Kyosuke a random ahh older age gap 4-5 years romance is so ick so please do not ❤️
Poor Rui getting used for the chin tilt someone save him 😭
Ryuji and Nana?? 🤮🤮 the ultimate ick
Aya redemption arc when he lowkey takes a child in as a little sibling?? 10/10 😤
The game of Kings?! Oh Reina finally got some canon Kyosuke and Ryuji fodder 💀
Pls do not hint at Rui finding a love interest...like Ren is RIGHT there
Look Mitsuki was just lacking the whole time...typical shojo girl protagonist activities...and Towa was kinda a wet towel himself but the demi vibes were 💯👌🏼😩
...obsessed with the last line

it’s the end of the series. and i’m so sad.
this was super cute though i did skim it because i wasn’t too interested in the mini volumes or aya chans last chapter too much, even though it was cute. i’m glad we got to see Rui and Nana one last time and they got the ending/beginning story they deserved. Also Kyōsuke’s chapter was so cute, i’m so happy for him. He was my second favorite because he’s so quirky through the whole series.
