The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins

A gruesome, grueling, and heart wrenching study about a pile of broken people. Oy. If nothing else, this story is an eye opening view of how trapped victims of verbal abuse can become and how they can justify their situation "at least I'm better than her" or "he'll never do that to me". The struggle of the alcoholic came across as very raw with a ring of true experience. The perspective of the alcoholic seemed insightful not just for alcoholism but for better understanding others around me with addictions from which they cannot seem to break free.

Almost 3.5 stars.

Predictable, but I loved every moment of this book. I was invested, and I felt for the MC. I was angry and sad with her.

Characters are pathetic. I am embarrassed to admit I couldn't put it down.

Great book! Definitely a page turner. If you get confused by different narrators then I’d definitely recommend the audiobook.

An engaging story but extremely pathetic and boring characters, almost unrealistic/cringy dialogue at times, and an ending that was extremely rushed and seemingly stuck in as an afterthought.

I didn't like any of the characters and I'm not sure in the ending
Spoilerit was revealed to the public that Tom was the one that killed Megan

Switching of POVs was interesting and confusing sometimes.
