Hello Fellow Readers,

I loved this book! It has everything I want Body positivity, LGBT Positivity, and wonderful story that while does have romance isn't all about romance. First of all Skye Shin is amazing! She's intelligent, can sing and dance and she is just a breath of fresh air in the Young Adult world. There was never a time where I didn't like Skye, even when her mother seemed to bully her, and she demurred. Or even when she was harassed online and she was mortified I never once thought she didn't have a backbone. Skye almost seemed real to me, like I could imagine this being about a real person rather than a character in a book and I love that.

Lee created such a great story that I did not want to put the book down. Set in Southern California (where I grew up) I loved that I got all the city references and knew everything she was talking about. I also loved the integration of Instagram stars and Korean culture in this modern age. I also really loved Henry because he was not the typical 'mysterious, rude, heartthrob' but acted like a genuinely nice guy (Which more YA novels need).

There were a couple of things I wished Lee did, like the consequences to certain people were not as harsh as I would have liked, and I felt some things didn't get as solved as I would like. This does make me wonder if this will turn into a series (which I would not mind) or if it will stay a one-shot.
Overall, the book is a great burst of sunshine in a genre in which I think really needs it.

I think this was really cute and I loved the body positivity talk and the plus size representation. Her confidence as a fat girl was really inspiring and uplifting. But the characters really got on my nerves and some of the "issues" with social media seemed a little inflated for dramas sake.

This was such a cute book! It’s like Dumplin’ meets K-pop.

I loved the plus size and queer rep. All of the pop culture references, which I normally don’t but this was great. And honestly just all of K-pop was great. I would love to see this become a movie because the story was made for the screen.

Also really love seeing a bisexual girl get with a guy. We love to see wlw books too, don’t get me wrong! One of my favorites for sure! But it’s nice to feel seen and to talk about all sides of bisexuality. And sometimes that means dating the opposite sex.

Very entertaining book. I listened to the audiobook of this, and the way the audiobook was narrated wasn't really my favorite, and it got a little annoying at times, but it's a pretty good contemporary. Good representation and it kept me engaged in the book because of the competition aspect of the book.

This was a super cute romance and I appreciated that Skye loved her body and would not be shamed for it though others tried. She has some family issues along those lines, but she is trying hard to be true to herself.

The storyline was fun and since I was looking for something that I could use for a little escapism, it worked perfectly. There's romance and a little drama with the reality show. If there's a complaint is is about cuteness overload. The romance is a bit on the perfect side, but that is just what I was craving so it worked for me. For those who enjoy K-Pop and Korean media in general, this will be one they won't want to miss.
