Wonderful, romantic, well written book. Swept me off my feet and made me cry in the end.

I love NSparks and this is my second time reading The Notebook. I enjoyed it much more 10+ years ago when I read it first. I could not get into it for some reason this time. Maybe because I already know the story.

I will never admit the movie is better than the book but I will say that I think I would have enjoyed the book more if it were told from either all Noah’s perspective with clips from Allie as flashbacks or as a dual POV.

Overall I do love the story and I know this one one of his first books written.. but for some reason I just struggled. It’s not one of my favorites of his but still a good story.

movie was better. still this was cute and nicely written in some aspects.
unfortunately some scenes and dialogue drag on for longer than they need to.

a solid 3 stars. i personally think the movie created better chemistry between the characters and is more unhinged so it captures my interest but this is a cute book. i think the movie takes inspiration from this book but not fully accurate to this. i enjoyed the book though but i found it a little boring maybe? characters felt underdeveloped but overall fine
