If that's not enough, I have a hell of a lot more. First off, the absolute 180 that Raf did is unacceptable. He finally learns the truth of what Noelle endures, and now he loves and cherishes her. No, fuck you dude! She tried on multiple occasions to tell you the truth, and you just continued to ignore her and make her life a bigger hell than she was already living. You don't get to come and be all lovey dovey without any groveling.
If that's not gross enough, Noelle instantly trusted him and accepted him because he was being nice to her. Without any evidence that he had actually made changes or actual apologies, she just was like he's great and awesome and hot. I forgive and trust this man. Not just no, that's a hell no. Girl, do better. I love my FMC to be strong and take no crap. Not doormats who accept anything. Her trauma was awful, and she was strong enough to survive it, yet couldn't make a man actually work for your forgiveness. That just shows me that she's weak willed and not someone I'm willing to read about anymore.
Her family sucks too. I can get over bad characters and some of the messed up shit if the writing was decent. It wasn't. It was a lot of flowery repetitive writing for no reason. This book could have easily been 300 pages like the first book. The added POV from Michele was unnecessary. Yes, his pov added some context to what was going on, but he had way too many compared to the FMC and MMC. He ended up having more of a voice than Noelle or Raf.
As much as I wanted to like the book based on some aspects from book 1, I just couldn't get over the negatives in this story.
