It’s been a few days since I’ve read this now but all I’ve been thinking about since is this book. I was looking for a good book to listen to the other day while I had a headache and this one was great!
This book follows Layla and Camden who were best friends in high school. While Camden had feelings for her, he never told her because she was always with someone else or had decided she just wanted to be single. Years later, Layla and Camden are back in town at the same time and Layla hears Camden sing a song that he wrote about her.
I’m the biggest friends to lovers sucker and I love a guy who is obsessed and in love with the heroine. I was obsessed with these two from the beginning of the book! Their story immediately drew me in and I loved every second of their romance.
These two developers at such a nice pace and seeing them together made me happy! Their relationship is just so sweet and supportive which is great because the outside conflict of the story is very dark. It was nice just seeing them be so sweet together and not have drama between them.
I’m a sucker for soft male characters and Camden is no exception! I need more books in my life with love interests like him. He was so patient with Layla every step of the way and just so sweet with her that it made my heart melt.
Overall, I highly recommend this if you are looking for a cute rockstar romance but I would look up trigger warnings before hand as this book gets dark.

There is nothing "morally gray" about a husband hitting his wife, raping his wife, kidnapping his child, threatening to kill ex wife and son, and her unborn bay with new husband. Stalking, m as king threats against another person.
Graphic: Bullying, Cursing, Domestic abuse, Emotional abuse, Gun violence, Infidelity, Rape, Sexual content, Sexual violence, and Gaslighting
Moderate: Toxic relationship, Violence, Medical content, Kidnapping, Stalking, and Pregnancy
