Some good lines but overall quite unenjoyable.
Would not recommend it to anyone I like (or dislike).

I'm sure it works on the stage, but reading the script is a lifeless experience which drove me a bit crazy.

Edit: after watching a stage version of "Happy Days" I can confirm it does not, in fact, work anywhere. This is just a script of utter nonsense with no meaning.

Good for an actress that would like to hear herself babble for an hour at the stage.
I get the unhappy marriage, absurdity, existentialism thingie, being binded to a person that does not give you anything for the shake of doing so- he could have transferred that in a less boring way.

While the “greatness” of this play cannot be denied, reading it instead of seeing it performed takes the left out of its existentialism, that being said existentialism is not my vibe so it’s highly probable I just missed the point entirely.

Winnie: Is gravity what it was, Willie, I fancy not.
Yes, the feeling more and more that if I were not held- in this way, I would simply float up into the blue. And that perhaps some day the earth will yield and let me go, the pull is so great, yes, crack all round me and let me out. Don't you ever have that feeling, Willie, of being sucked up? Don't you have to cling on sometimes, Willie?

I thought this was going to be something happy, redemptive. It's Samuel Beckett, I should have known better.
