Sydney is a very strong female heroine! She can take care of herself, she is loyal, she is very smart and she knows how to say no and make others respect her. Of course she is just as socially awkward as usual, but that is partly why she is so endearing to me. I like that she is not too cocky, and she is learning how to interact with people her own age.

The Golden Lily actually surprised me in a very good way! I was a little cautious before I started it, because I had heard rumors of a love triangle, and I hate love triangles in my books. I wish I hadn’t listened to those rumors, because I would have read this long before I actually did.

Sydney continues to be herself in this story, and at the same time, she lets herself grow as well, even when what she wants to do seems to be against her Alchemist beliefs. She takes a stand, and decides that she needs to be able to protect herself if she is to protect others as well.

Okay, wow! We see some improvements in Sydney and Adrian, or shall I say Sydrian? I look forward to their moments, and that last chapter… THAT LAST CHAPTER BROKE MY HEART! If you've read it, then you know exactly why. Of course I was happy and estatic and thrilled until that last page… I just then felt my heart explode.
Indigo Spell, let's see what you got!

Ahh. This book was awesome. I really really enjoyed the first book, but I think this book was a lot better! I can't wait to get the next!!

If you're reading this on your phone, there are spoilers ahead, so beware!

Spoiler So I kind of guessed that Trey was a vampire hunter. We kept hearing about these hunters over and over... And after the first book, I kind of wondered if maybe all of those deaths were just Lee and not hunters...
After Trey started getting those bruises I wondered if there was something more... Then after Sydney's attacker reacted the way he did, I figured out it was him. I'm really nervous about how the hunters act towards the Moroi and what will happen in the future books. They better not hurt Adrian or anyone like that.

Naturally I've been waiting for Adrian to tell Sydney how he felt for some time now. Who else picked up on how Jill was acting to Sydney was actually coming through the bond? I thought it was pretty funny how she just kept talking about how beautiful she was all the time. I loved the night of the Halloween dance, her "teaching" him to drive (who else guessed he was just pretending? ), the self defense class, and of course the last chapter of the book. I think it's so adorable that Adrian paints. The lily part was so cute! Obviously I was thrilled when they finally kissed and he confessed his feelings. But I dont think any of us were that surprised with how Sydney reacted. She's been terrified of vampires her whole life. Just because she's friends with them now doesn't mean she's going to be okay with them making out with her.... I'm sure she'll get over it soon. ;) or at least I hope.

Who else was super bored with Braydon? I think he was an awesome FRIEND for Sydney, and they definitely have a lot they can talk about, but everyone could see there wasn't any passion. Not like the way it is with Adrian. I thought it was hilarious when he broke up with her for being "irresponsible" LOL

I feel about for Jill and her love life again. Once again the book is over and she's still not with the right guy. I guess it would have been just TOO easy if her and Eddie had gotten together right away. I'm kind of tired of Angeline though...

What does everyone think about Sydney's weird blood? Is it connected with her being able to do magic maybe? Guess we'll find out later.. I know she's terrified of anything magical but I think it's pretty awesome that she can make amulets and things.

I can't wait to get the third book! I'm away from home at the moment, and won't return until tomorrow. I had no idea I'd finish this book so quickly or I'd have brought the third as well...

As much as I enjoy this book, and the glory that is Adrian Ivashkov, this book I found appeared to be a bit of a fill in book. Sydney's relationship with Brayden was such a bore and honestly, it was a waist of time even just reading the pages in which he featured in. The plot line I didn't find to move very far until the last 60 or so pages, and they didn't seem to be that concerned with Jill and their main purpose of being in Palm Springs. I just hope the series isn't going to be a total flop.

oh, my, my. how can I rate this book?.

I swear that I liked it. But, there's a BIG but. On the one hand I like Sydney (she's great, smart, brave, interesting but nevertheless Rose remains my favourite, ever), the whole group, there's Adrian (and I LOVE Adrian, you know guys..), and even only for a few lines every chapter there was Dimitri, my beloved, and at the end he proved again that he is the most badass of the series. I love the dynamics and Sydrian plus Richelle's style.

On the other hand it took me 13 months to finish this book. 13 MONTHS. I started in August 2013, then I stopped in September 2013, restarted in December 2013, restopped in January 2014, and finally started again yesterday and I read the last 55% in a single day.

What does it means?.

I don't know, and I'll analyse everything when I'll write a full review, for now, 3 stars. A middle point.

Yawn. This book was so boring for so much of the book that I almost gave up 60% of the way through. This is the 15th book I've read by Richelle Mead and I'm finally getting pretty tired of all the slow moving starts and explosive endings. Of course, that doesn't mean I'm not going to start the next one straight away.
