I did enjoy this book quite a bit and it was a surprisingly easy read despite it's length. I'm not 100% sure why I liked it so much honestly. Usually I can put my finger on it, but not this time. I think I liked or was intrigued by a good number of the characters (particularly Philip). It was rather predictable, but I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing in this case, just a different type of storytelling compared to the plot twisty narratives we usually see today.

this book is so so so good and surprisingly fast and engaging for how long it is… BUT there’s literally no need for the graphic assault scenes
