This could have been so good, but the typos and mistakes really detracted. There were many sentences that started without a capital letter, and there were numerous typos and incorrect words used. That really detracted. Also, the ending was less than satisfying - the whole thing was told and not shown.

This is a perfectly fine and adequate book, but like I said in one of my updates there is no reason for this to exist. Also too much of the first half consists of chase scenes that don’t do anything to advance the story. And when they do there is still too much to the point it feels like padding.

My biggest question so far “Is why does this book exist?” It is a perfectly fine story so far, but it doesn’t make sense to have a book about Dastan before he goes to the palace.

Alternate titles for this book: “Running: The Novel” or “Escaping from Guards: Constantly or How to Pad Out Your Cheap Tie-in Novel”

“How far had they run tonight? And how much farther would they be able to go before they dropped from sheer exhaustion?”

I’m wondering the same thing.
