I'm a little late for this one, but it was not a book for me. The romance happened way too fast (in the spam of a few days) and the whole "drug pheromone" thong didn't sit right with me. It was too close to dub con and I'm not a fan of that. I won't continue with this series !

I loved this so much! I didn’t write reviews for the other three books in the series because I finished them in 2021 but I loved those as well! I was super excited for this book as soon as Zhallaix was mentioned! He was so cute and perfect and I loved how he and Celeste were fighting their attraction to each other. I hoped we got more at the end of them together and I’m so so glad she chose to go back to earth!! I was on the edge of my seat ready to cry if she didn’t. I love that they have a baby on the way too and that she met Gemma!! I hope there’s more scenes with everyone in the next book!!!!

This was surprisingly awesome. While I started this series on book 4, I was (barely) able to follow the story. I'm not one for politics or machinations, so those parts were hard to get through for me.
It's such a breath of fresh air to experience an actual romance as opposed to insta-lust and a human woman who unquestioningly accepts an alien immediately as a suitor.
Definitely have to explore more of this author's backlist.
Edit:
I went back to skim and/or read the previous books to understand some of the plot points. Wow are those 1st 2 guys rapey. Ugh. It makes me love Zhallaix all the more.
The author has me roped in with the overarching plot, darn it. I'm dying to know who the Lurkers really were. What happened that they destroyed Earth? Are they really the ones who destroyed Earth? Is Collins still alive? How about Peter? Are the Lurkers monitoring Earth activity? How did the Naga females suddenly lose the ability to survive the birthing process? Are all the Death Adders really gone as Zhallaix thinks? What's going on with escaped female nagas? What does the rest of the Earth look like? Is it because of the reactors that this piece of land has been reviving? OK, I'll stop now.

4.5/5 stars.
I was very excited to learn more about the Death Adders and it didn’t disappoint.
I loved Zhallaix and what he’s all about. I loved how he was around his mate. So adorable in a weird way and he’s also a bit of a grump.
Celeste is the type who doesn’t take crap from other people and I loved it. She also doesn’t let Zhallaix get away with anything unless she’s willing to and I’m here for it.
I loved their relationship and how it all started. Sexy times were great.
