I am speechless. Bell Hooks conveys the male experience with such clarity, intelligence, and empathy. She examines intersectional feminism and feminism for the modern man in this work. She holds both men and women accountable for perpetuating patriarchal belief systems, which is something I greatly admire. She repeatedly shows how patriarchy affects everyone's childhood, adolescence, and adulthood. She dealt with these issues, in my opinion, with compassion and reflection. Bell Hooks should be extremely pleased with her work. My only criticism is that some of the points are backed up by personal experience. However, it could be argued that they enhance the intimate nature of the sentiments that Hook conveys.

great exploration of how patriarchy affects men too and how men can benefit from feminism as well. i didnt love some of the language in this (use of "males/females" always feels weird to me; also there was a fair amount of cisnormative language, but this book is a bit dated, so it is what it is i guess). overall a great resource
