Iconic collection, lots of stand outs including sweetness which I’ve loved for forever. The last poem really hit tho

Beautiful and very readable. I'm not good at reading poetry; the best I can usually muster is to savor an occasional line or two, and to wish I could savor the whole. But! Dunn was easy to like, and there were lots of poems that I loved the whole way through and many more that I liked bits of and that added up to enough to make this book feel like a bit of a revelation

break my heart, then rebuild it right back up. i wrote a research paper on stephen dunn in college and haven't REALLY revisited his work since then (uhh, seven years ago?) and it's startling and comforting to experience these poems as a married almost-thirty-year-old as opposed to a wanderlusty drunk twentysomething jesus-loving college student. transcendent.
