I didn't give it a 5 stars because I did think the set up of the third book was a little slow and the long awaited battle between Bane and Zannah was too short/fast in comparison to the rest of this book. You could say their battle had a build up that initiated right away in the story but I wished for the battle itself to be longer because I thought Zannah's sorcery was interesting and I wanted more of that. Aside from that I did think bringing back the daughter of Caleb was a nice way of connecting this book with the previous two. I also love the location of the ending battle because it has been a part of all three of the books. I liked reading the different perspectives of the characters, the different interpretations of following the rule of two and just how different the dark side can be employed. A great ending to a great trilogy!

I couldn't have asked for a better conclusion to this trilogy. I was hooked from the very start, constantly coming up with theories about where the story will go and how it will end. I loved the many callbacks to the previous books and the ways the characters grew and changed once again. I'm so sad to let this series go, but I now have such a love for these characters that I'll take with me forever.
