I really really really wanted to give this a better rating since I absolutely love Alex and Violet. I think they’re a great pair. He can truly appreciate her brand of weirdness and she can appreciate MC!

Honestly, Violet is one of my favorite female leads and it’s all because of her bad habit of word vomit. She really can’t help but over share. It also seems to get worse when drinks. Reading that things she says always makes me laugh.

Alex was so charming in book 1. I think I added him into a special book shelf on here because I adored him that much. He’s not as special in this story, but I still like him.

In my opinion this book was completely unnecessary to write. Book 1 ended on such a good note. And since Hunting is writing other books about Alex’s teammates we could’ve heard about their wedding from one of the teammates POV. I didn’t mind reading this story, but it was honestly a waste of time.

Unfortunately, this is my least favorite book of the series. For some reason, this time I couldn't feel the same connection with the characters. :(

Great book... but my least favorite!

The book was good, in the series it was my least favorite though. The couple is adorable as usual i love the continuance of all the team!!

This book is such a charming update on Lily and Alex’s life after we see Lily struggle with the wedding planning in the previous book. It brings to light all the drama real couples face when planning a wedding and the stress it can bring to relationships. Of course it wouldn’t be an Alex and Lily book without mentioning lots of beaver and MC time! Low drama, lots of romance, and lots of our favorite precious characters!

As follower and a fan of Helena Hunting’s Pucked Series, I was excited and a little apprehensive about Forever Pucked. I honestly was happy with Alex and Vi’s outcome in the first book and even the snippets of them in Pucked Up and Pucked Over. Did I need to read about them getting to the alter? No, not really. Ultimately, it was the teasers, and an ARC opportunity that pushed me to move it to the read column.

If you didn’t get enough of Vi’s wacky, no filter personality in the previous books, you get a whole new level of it in this book. She’s is in full panic mode about the wedding, and Alex should get the Saint of the year award for the level of patience he exhibits during all of it. But that’s what you do when you’ve meet the love of your life. You love all of the parts, even the weird and wacky ones….

I’m going to get the DISLIKE portion of this review out of the way, because there is a lot LIKING to be had later on in the book…

Vi’s wacky, no filter personality is something you can count on. I found it a little annoying that she has become so spoiled, in the short time she and Alex have been living together. Now, don’t get me wrong, it’s nice to feel taken care of, but she’s lets him do everything. It just seems odd to me, because in Pucked, she came of as this independent woman. Minus, of course, living in her parents pool house.

Even thought it’s obvious, that Alex and Vi are meant to be, and love each very deeply. There needs to be a source of conflict, and it comes in the form of her job and the hours she’s working. This whole story line had me eye rolling. The give and take of that lifestyle is hard on relationships. I get that Alex wants to spend more time with her when he’s home, but why should she have to give up her job to do it. This big tough hockey player, turns into a pouty, whiney child, because Vi won’t budge on the topic of her job. Why would she, she’s successful, and she’s good at what she does. Just because he successful and makes a ton of money, doesn’t mean, she shouldn’t have value. She wants to follow her mother’s example, and not be dependent on a man to survive. Yes, I picked that apart, and was probably a little harsh, but it is what I was feeling while that was going. I know…..I know….it’s just a book.

Ok…so now, the LIKES:

Honestly, I really just enjoy how these hockey players, care about each other on and off the ice. Yes, Buck and Vi are “related”, but his relationship with Alex is constantly evolving. I think the Sunny factor has made that relationship a little more even, you can tell they care for another. I like how they all hang out together on and off the ice. How they tease each other and pick on each other. It’s a refreshing change to hear and see these other characters from the other books, in this book.

I love the hockey sequences in these books. They aren’t all technical, they just talk about what’s going on in the game. Not going to spoil it for you, but there is a boarding sequence that sets the wheels in motions for some pretty big A-HA moments for Vi and Alex. These major moments force these two immature people, to pull their crap together and make some decisions about the future. Great examples of character growth and progression for Alex and Vi.

I couldn’t live without the hilarity of all those inappropriate conversations that go on between friends, and an occasional inappropriate word of wisdom from Skye. The oddly timed discussion about the No Go Zone, and Charlene’s pearl necklace, at the hockey game was pure genius. The scenes in the sex shop were good for some laughter. Who said taking your mother and your future mother-in-law to a sex shop was a good idea. LOL.

Overall this was a feel good book for me. There were a few unexpected moments, as well as some holy hotness moments involving The Beaver and The MC. I was left feeling like Alex and Vi were in a good place, and moving onto the next chapter. On a side note: Lance better be getting his own book. Just sayin’…. I need to know more about this man, and his Scottish roots. Also, Darren and Charlene need a book too or a novella or something.

Alex and Violet have become my absolute favorite couple from the Pucked series, the ones that started it all! Alex is the gorgeous hockey player from Canada and Violet is the speak your mind girl from Chicago. They had a one night stand but afterwards, Alex pursued her. Violet was afraid to become a puck bunny and did her best to stay away, which obviously didn’t work. In Pucked you watched them fall in love and now Forever Pucked is the HEA of their relationship. I could not have asked for a better ending to this story!

Alex and Violet are engaged to be married but have put it on the back burner for now. Every time someone mentions the word marriage, Violet breaks out into hives because of what happened at her mother’s wedding. Lucky for Alex, her step brother Miller has the video and once Alex sees for himself, he understands her embarrassment completely. Their mothers are another story. Interfering is their specialty and they make no secret about what they want this wedding to be.

There are some real surprises in this book which I was really not expecting! Violet also comes to realize life is too precious and she is pushing off marrying the man of her dreams for no reason. She finally gives Alex the all clear and I must say it was cute to see the tables turned and the man so enthusiastic about the wedding.

We also get to see more of Charlene, Sunny, Lily, Randy, Miller and Darren again. When the gang all gets together, watch out! Life is pretty interesting with this group, nothing is off limits. Then you throw Violet and Alex’s moms in the mix, total laughable moments!

This was a hilarious, romantic quick read with an emotional twist that I read in one sitting. I would highly suggest reading all the books in the series before starting Forever Pucked. I have to say that I love each book in the series but honestly, this is the best by far. It was the perfect way to end Alex and Violet’s story.
