Are you familiar with the bestselling title in islamic spirituality, Secrets of Divine Love? Well, the author made a come back. This time with a collection of poems about our connection with the Divine, divided into 5 themes: mercy, faith, insight, guidance, and love. Some poems are as short as a line, some fill an entire page. One thing they have in common is that all are reflective and beautifully written. A. Helwa had also generously put a disclaimer at the beginning of the book that poetic language is not supposed to be taken as theological verity.

compared to Secrets Divine of Love, i think this book focused on a more narrowed audience. this audience is for hopeless people, sad people, lost people. and i was that people. you could be too. needless to say, a worth read indeed.

I'm really not one to read poems at all but this was such a beautiful read.
As expected, the author's writing is stunning and delicate in every way. Every word fit right in with what was intended to deliver. This book was more towards our relationship and feelings towards Allah SWT than towards Islam as a whole.Â
But I do feel like this book isn't something extraordinary though I still really like it. Probably because I'm not into poems. Either way, this book was peaceful in a way that made me feel calm as I savor every word. A great read during Ramadan, for sure.
