While Patterson's writing at times is unintentionally comical, he spins a tight mystery which I couldn't put down. I enjoyed a trip back in time (only 20 years) to AOL chatrooms, pay phones and Rod Strickland. The main character Alex Cross and his sidekick Sampson are extremely likeable and you can't help but root for them.

Following immediately on for the previous book you don't stop running.  Alex Cross has barely time to take a breath, he is once again looking for a viscious serial killer.

That is how the book starts, fast pased and the action never ends.  Mix in some heartbreak, frustration, disappointment and eventually success and you have an unputdownable book.
