I loved how this book took place in paris, and had little french references and speech. It was funny at times, but then also became spooky, mysterious, and adventurous. I loved this and the first book so much!

Great continuation of Cassidy Blake's adventures with her super cool history/supernatural nerd parents. This time, we are in France and Cassidy gets to figure out how to deal with a poltergeist. I truly love Jacob's friendship and also his fears and struggles.

I genuinely feel much more interested in Jacob rather than Cassidy and often times I almost feel like there is some kind of, not necessarily a copy/paste, but something similar with almost all of the characters in this series except for Jacob with the HP characters. Like Cassidy reminds me of Harry Potter and his pretty dull personality (imo), Lara is basically Hermione, the new character we meet reminds me of Jenny or whatever. Jacob could be Ron, but he's got a little more umpff.

Anyways, I am super intrigued by the ending though! Possibly a secret society? o.o

Tunnel of Bones is the exciting sequel for the Cassidy Blake series. I have to admit that I love exploring the Catacombs and the generally creepy feel of the series. I found myself geniunely scared for Cass and Jacob when they explore the tunnel of bones. Lots of claustrophobia and tons of creepiness in Paris. My favorite part has to be knowing that there are different types of ghosts and learning more about poltergists. The friendship between Jacob and Cass is the central part of the novel, the icing on the cake so to say.

I love the part where Jacob opens up to Cass about his death and life, taking a lot of courage. I was geniunely confused as to how he died first because like a dummy I thought Jacob died saving  Cass lmao.

3.9/5 C+

I might have liked this one better than the first one! At least for me, it was a bit more on the spooky side. The whole catacomb thing definitely creeped me out more than the first book. Schwab also builds on the world she created in the first one, all in great ways. Jacob and Cass's relationship is also evolving and I can't wait to see where it goes next.

One of the things I also like about this series is that Schwab has a knack for changing tone between audiences. It doesn't feel like she's talking down to middle grade readers, but instead getting on their level. It's really effective, and you can tell that Schwab has a real talent for writing.
