This is wrapping up to be a strange conclusion. Soma and friends have progressed to the third gate of the Blue competition. Tsukasa got taken out by faker Asahi Saiba who can see someone cook and then use their cooking equipment to magically absorb their specialized knowledge. The Aldini-Yukihira pairing was fun (but I hated the "joke" about one member of the competition having a five o'clock shadow and deep voice while wearing a dress... come on).

The shokugekis in this feel like they don’t have much impact on Soma or any of the other characters as a chef or their story, they’re just fights that have little importance to the overall story and are honestly a bit boring to me because of how little connection I have to these new characters. It’s upsetting bc I’ve loved this series but I’m honestly now just reading to be able to say I finished it because I don’t want to leave it incomplete.

First things first, I hate that fake Saiba person... I really hate how he is like Mimasaka that takes the precious knives out from the loser opponent. It isn't fair at all. He can bet other stuff but not that..
I am also disappointed about Tsukasa, though I really love him, still I am really disappointed. At the same time totally pissed at that fake Saiba... Just want him to get lost... Jouichirou made a really huge mistake in what he did to Saiba.. A grave mistake..

However, on the good side, I feel so proud for Takumi and Soma. After all they have been through. They remind me a lot of Doujima and Jouichirou. They are just so similar to them. I love the friendship and also the healthy competition between them.. I am just not sure what will happen next. And to think this will be the second to the last volume for now, I am no sure what else to do! I am excited and yet saddened that I will now have to wait for the next chapters and volumes!

I don’t really care for the Noir characters much. Maybe it’s because they are so underdeveloped compared to the rest. But one thing is for sure, the food in Food Wars certainly looks yummy!
